From the valley station you go west, first along the family run trail and then slightly uphill across open meadows in a southerly direction, past the Pirkbauer homestead and turn towards the Stiftswald. There you climb along the route of the family run through the St. Lambrechter Stiftswald to a small saddle east of the Gidikogel. At the meeting with the family descent, follow path no. 134 to the south and after about 30 minutes of walking you reach the relatively steep ridge. (Attention! The danger of snow slabs on the north-facing path in the forest should not be underestimated!). The ascent runs through the snow-covered winter forest to the Dreiwiesenhütte at 1,660m. From the Dreiwiesenhütte the climb continues to the first Grebenzen height on the left side of the Dreiwiesenhütte across the open area into the forest and there again a moderate climb to the cross on the Grebenzen 1,870m.
